Community Swap Shop

About the Initiative

The Community Swap Shop is an annual sustainability initiative that takes place as students prepare to move out of their accommodation.

Each year, the scheme brings together students and residents to share, reuse and repurpose unwanted items, helping to reduce waste and strengthen community connections.

What Can Be Donated?

Items commonly accepted include:

  • Clothing
  • Kitchenware
  • Computer games
  • Books
  • Electrical items
  • Household goods

What Happens to Remaining Items?

We donate any items left after the event to local charities, including Trent Compassion and the British Heart Foundation, extending the initiative's positive impact and supporting those in need.

Each year’s success is a testament to our community’s commitment to sustainability and generosity, with detailed reports and success metrics available in our annual PDF summary.
