International contextual admissions

We recognise the potential of international students from a variety of educational backgrounds.

The 糖心原创 is committed to social mobility and internationalisation, building a diverse global community where all of our students can thrive.聽

In line with our Contextual Offers Policy for Home students, if you are an International student and your academic performance doesn鈥檛 quite meet the requirements for your chosen course, you can still apply as you may be eligible for a contextual offer.聽

A contextual offer is a reduced conditional offer to study at Nottingham. These offers are usually one grade lower than the entry requirements on our course pages, however this can vary for some courses. Eligibility is based on circumstances that may have impacted your educational achievement.

If our standard offer includes a specific subject grade, this will generally remain. For example, if the standard offer is AAB with an A in maths, the contextual offer would be ABB with an A in maths.

There are no additional steps needed to receive a conditional offer, simply apply for an undergraduate course at the university through UCAS as usual. If your UCAS application shows that you meet the International Contextual Offer criteria, we will automatically consider you for a contextual offer.

We are able to make contextual offers to applicants with a wide range of global qualification profiles. For further information on our overall entry requirements please see鈥this page, or visit individual course pages for specific details.

To qualify for an International Contextual Offer, you must have International fee status and meet one of the following domicile* criteria:

  • You currently live in a country with a United Nations Education Index score of 0.7 or less
  • You currently live in a country where the mean years of schooling (per the United Nations Human Development Index) are less than or equal to 10鈥
  • You currently live in a country with an active armed conflict鈥
