1. Check your ceremony date and time
Each school and department has a specific ceremony date and time, so make sure you check when yours is and make a note of the date.

If you have any outstanding debt owing to the university, you will not be able to attend graduation this summer and will automatically be deferred to our winter ceremonies.
The date by which you must have cleared your debts was 5pm on Monday 29 June. Please if you need to discuss this.

3. Register how you'd like to graduate
Registration for our summer 2026 ceremonies has now closed. If you haven't registered a choice of how you would like to graduate, as long as you are eligible, you will automatically graduate in absentia and receive your certificate through the post or collect it in person following the summer ceremonies. 4. Book your guest tickets
Registration has now closed. Graduating students who registered to attend a ceremony by 12 noon on Friday 12 June were able to purchase up to two guest tickets during the registration process at a cost of £15 each. See our guest tickets webpage for further information.

5. Hire your gown and hood

6. Request a Student Status Letter
If you or your guests require a visa in order to attend graduation, you will need to request a Confirmation of Student Status Letter.
We recommend printing out the email you received inviting you to graduation as proof of your ceremony invitation.

7. Look out for extra guest tickets
Advance ticket sales are now closed. Depending on availability, there may be the option to purchase extra tickets in person on the day of your ceremony. Further details can be found on our guest tickets webpage.

9. Plan your photography and merchandise
Visit our photography and merchandise webpage to discover what will be available at your graduation. We know that capturing special moments of your day will be a priority!

Graduation parking costs £10 per vehicle and is valid for the day of your ceremony. Information about how to book your parking is available on our transport and parking webpage.
If you or a member of your party are a blue badge holder, you do not need to pay for parking. You will need to display your badge and complete a form on the day.
When you arrive, ask the parking attendants to direct you to accessible parking. They will give you the form on the day, along with directions to the accessible spaces.
