1. Check your ceremony date and time
Each school and department has a specific ceremony date and time, so make sure you check when yours is and make a note of the date.

If you have any outstanding debt owing to the university, you will not be eligible to graduate and will automatically be deferred. Please review the finance tab in if you are unsure. You have until 5pm on Monday 23 November to clear any debts.

3. Register how you'd like to graduate
Registration for our winter ceremonies opens at 10am on Tuesday 20 October. Whether you're planning to attend, defer or not attend, you must complete registration via your Tempest Graduation account by 12 noon on Friday 13 November to let us know your decision. 4. Book your guest tickets
Each graduating student attending a ceremony is guaranteed two guest tickets, which must be purchased as part of registration. Tickets cost £15 each and can be purchased until 12 noon on Friday 13 November via our ticket partner, Tempest Graduation. After this deadline, any unpaid tickets will be released for our extra ticket sales. See our guest tickets page for further information.

5. Hire your gown and hood
Your graduation would not be complete without the traditional gown and hood. Visit our gown webpage for all the details you need including prices and a guide to the style and colour you will wear on the day. Remember, you have until 12 noon on Friday 27 November to order your gown in advance.

Check your name and home address listed on are correct. The name that appears on your record will be the name used on your certificate. If you choose to graduate in absentia, your documents will be posted to the home address listed. The deadline for changing your details is 12 noon on Friday 20 November.

7. Request a Student Status Letter
If you or your guests require a visa in order to attend graduation, you will need to request a Confirmation of Student Status Letter.
We recommend printing out the email you received inviting you to graduation as proof of your ceremony invitation.

8. Look out for extra guest tickets
Depending on availability, extra guest tickets may be available to purchase from 10am on Tuesday 17 November and will cost £15 each. Further details can be found on our guest tickets webpage.

9. Book a nearby restaurant or hotel
Many of our graduating students and guests book a nearby restaurant or hotel to make the most of their special day. You can also explore more things to do in Nottingham and enjoy special offers for our graduates and guests.

10. Plan your photography and merchandise

Parking is available on University Park Campus for graduation and costs £10 per vehicle. Information on how to book your parking will be available on our transport and parking webpage closer to the ceremonies
Blue badge holders
If you or your guests are blue badge holders, you do not need to pay for parking. You will need to display your badge and complete a form on the day.
When you arrive, you will need to speak to a member of campus security. Security staff can be found at the entrance to David Ross Sports Village. They will provide a QR code for you to scan. Please complete the form that opens after scanning - this is required to ensure you are not charged for parking.
