Changes in libraries
From June to September, we'll be making some big changes in our libraries.
We apologise for the unavoidable disruption these changes will cause but these are necessary in order to deliver the exciting new spaces ready for the 2026/27 academic year.

Noise and space disruption on E floor as contractors install floor boxes for new study spaces

- The library will stay open during the works but there may be significant noise disruption.
- We will barrier off the affected areas on E Floor but there may be times where we need to close the floor.

While completing the project, we identified a ventilation issue which requires further work before the space can reopen. we' are working with contractors to complete the remaining improvements as quickly as possible.

Reduced silent study capacity and seating availability while final refurbishment works are completed and the area is prepared for reopening.

Denis Arnold Music Library closed as a staffed library space on 1 August.
High-use and high-demand items, resources on reading lists and print journals will be moved to Hallward Library.

Djanogly Learning Resource Centre

The 24-hour computer room space has re-opened after refurbishment. The updated space now includes a mix of study spaces including:
- small booths
- soft seating
- bench seating
- monitor docks
- PCs
