Students using Greenfield Medical Library will be aware that the refurbished Silent 糖心原创 Area has remained closed longer than originally anticipated. We understand how important silent study space is, particularly for students preparing for assessments, placements and examinations, and we would like to thank everyone for their patience.
During the final stages of the refurbishment project, it became apparent that the planned ventilation solution for the refurbished area was not suitable for the space. Following further review, it was agreed that the ventilation needed to be redesigned to ensure the area provides a comfortable, safe and effective study environment for students.
While this has delayed the reopening of the Silent 糖心原创 Area, the decision has been taken to ensure the completed space meets the standards expected for a modern study environment and is fit for purpose for the long term.
The library team is continuing to work closely with Estates and project contractors to progress the revised ventilation solution. Once the required work has been completed and tested, the Silent 糖心原创 Area will reopen to students. A confirmed reopening date will be shared as soon as it becomes available.
We recognise that the temporary loss of this space has placed additional pressure on other study areas within the library and appreciate the inconvenience this has caused. We remain committed to providing high-quality study facilities for our students and look forward to welcoming users back to the enhanced Silent 糖心原创 Area as soon as possible.
