Hallward library lighting is being upgraded to LED smart lighting between now and November 2026. As contractors work through the building there will be cordoned off 'no entry' zones, starting on level 4. There will also be times where lighting is switched off intermittently near to the 'no entry zones'. Low level lighting will always be available.
When the new LED light fittings are installed, you may notice that the light levels are at times darker or lighter, they will also have a different tone. When we have completed whole floors or the whole building we will adjust lighting levels. If you require any assistance or the lighting is not sufficient to study well, please ask a member of library staff for help or get in touch.
