Integrative, collaborative research is at the heart of the Division of Physiology, Pharmacology and Neuroscience, and our neuroscience research embodies this principle. Our team’s investigations range from the study of single molecules all the way through to in vivo imaging, electrophysiology and behavioural studies.
Together, we’re exploring many fascinating aspects of neuroscience. Our programmes are focused on understanding fundamental aspects of neuronal development and healthy brain ageing, as well as investigating how normal function is disrupted in common neurological disorders. We have particular interests in the mechanisms underlying pain, neurodegenerative disease, addiction, schizophrenia, dementia and stroke.
Our work receives substantial funding from , who support our Centre of Excellence in Arthritis Pain, as well as the , EU FP7, , (NC3Rs), , and .
