Joonas works on phase transitions in particle physics, including both in the context of cosmological thermal history and in neutron star cores.

Adam works on classical gravity and specialises in alternative chiral and non-metric formulations. Part of his work is to explore the structure of perturbative gravity around black holes to find alternative methods to model extreme mass ratio inspirals. Other areas of interest include modified gravity, numerical relativity and the exact gravitational solutions.

Kieran works on modified gravity, in particular, on theories involving interacting, massive spin-2 fields (massive/multi-gravity). His work focusses on the theoretical aspects of these theories, such as their relationship to extra dimensions, alongside more phenomenological aspects, such as their implications for cosmology, dark energy, dark matter and black holes.

Qi-Xin works on non-perturbative field theories and in particular solitons. He uses lattice field theory to study soliton dynamics, including composite solitons, superradiance and quantum evolution. He is also interested in effective field theories.
