Students in Nottingham have stepped up to support a national initiative that has seen them turn trash into treasure – and raise thousands of pounds for life-saving research into heart disease.

Exciting new technologies that will shape the economy and drive sustainability on a regional, national and global scale have been showcased by The ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ during a visit by the Shadow Universities Minister.

The ÌÇÐÄÔ´´â€™s asymptomatic Covid-19 testing service has hit the significant milestone of completing 100,000 tests this week.

The university will help to reduce the number of homeless people sleeping rough this winter by hosting a shelter on campus, working in partnership with local charity Emmanuel House.

The ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ has helped create a new UK University Overseas Campuses Network, launched today at the Universities UK Transnational Education Conference.

The ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ Health Service, at Cripps Medical Centre on University Park, is recruiting for a study looking at Covid-19 vaccine schedules in young people.

The ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ has reinforced its dedication to tackling climate change ahead of COP26 with commitments to reduce emissions, improve environmental sustainability and support Nottingham’s aims to be a net zero carbon city.

Staff at the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ are to receive training from the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) to help them spot signs of modern slavery and labour exploitation.

As Nottingham welcomes students back to campus for the start of the academic year, the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ has mobilised a comprehensive package of measures to keep Covid-19 rates low and protect communities.

Students at the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ will benefit from newly refurbished sustainable student accommodation on campus, thanks to an ambitious programme of works starting this month.
