Wobble Week 2026

Monday 26 October - Friday 6 November 2026

Two weeks of activities to support students who are feeling overwhelmed by university.

A wobble is a moment when you feel unsure about things, and everyone experiences them from time to time. You might be missing home, feeling like you don’t fit in, finding it difficult to motivate yourself to learn, finding your second year university experience differs from your first, and if you are an international student you may be struggling with British culture. Wobbles can happen about anything at any time. We want you to know that however you are feeling, it’s OK. The university is well prepared to support you.

Wobble Week aims to foster a sense of belonging between all students across all our campuses, encouraging an honesty in sharing and acknowledging some of our more vulnerable moments. Wobble Week provides an opportunity to unwind, share and belong.

For guidance and tips on managing finances, visit the  and the university's guide to managing your money.

Autumn Pause: Create, Connect and Unwind

Moving into a new home, whether that's student accommodation or a shared house, can be an exciting time, but it can also bring challenges as you adjust to a new environment, meet new people and establish new routines. Taking time out to do something creative can be a simple yet effective way to support your mental health and wellbeing. Join us for Autumn Pause: Create, Connect & Unwind, a cosy craft session designed to bring people together in a warm, welcoming space.

This event offers an opportunity to slow down, be present in the moment and enjoy the mindful benefits of crafting. Creative activities can help reduce stress, encourage relaxation and provide a healthy break from the demands of study and daily life.  Whether you're a keen crafter or trying something new, you'll have the chance to connect with like-minded people, enjoy friendly conversation and take part in a calming, seasonal activity.

Together, we'll create beautiful autumn-themed decorations that you can take home to add a touch of warmth and autumn cosiness to your new room, flat or house, helping to make your new space feel a little more like home. As you craft, you'll be able to enjoy free tea, coffee and delicious autumn treats, creating the perfect cosy atmosphere to relax, unwind and connect with others.

Come along to meet new people, enjoy a mindful afternoon and leave with both a handmade keepsake and a greater sense of connection. No previous crafting experience is needed, just bring yourself and enjoy some seasonal creativity in a supportive and comforting environment.
