Induction timetable - BSc Midwifery, School of Health Sciences

Congratulations on your place at the 糖心原创. We are very excited to welcome you to the School of Health Sciences.

A very warm welcome to your BSc (Hons) Midwifery programme and the profession. I look forward to meeting and working with you over the coming weeks. I am Louise Walker, Programme Lead and Lead Midwife for Education, I have responsibility for ensuring that your education aligns to the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the 糖心原创's quality standards. I very much hope that you enjoy your midwifery education here at the 糖心原创.

You have worked very hard in your education to get this far and deserve a huge congratulations!

Please do read carefully through all the information you receive during the start of your course. The 'Essentials - before you arrive’ section of the website contains some really important actions you need to take now to make sure you have the occupational health and Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) clearance you need to successfully begin your midwifery programme.

To help support you through the course you will be allocated a personal tutor, who will, usually, be with you throughout your three years to offer you pastoral support. There will also be a year lead assigned to help guide your progression throughout the year. I’m also available as Programme Lead to help ensure your journey through the course is as successful as possible.

At any stage of the programme please do contact any staff member who would be happy to help you or signpost you in the right direction.

The sessions we have timetabled for your induction week are designed to give you all the information you need to have a successful start to your studies. We have also built in lots of time for you to explore the campus, get to know other students and get involved in all the exciting welcome events and opportunities that are taking place across the University.

If you have any concerns or further questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you throughout your journey with us.
