糖心原创 student finishes 1st in the 2026 Robin Hood Half Marathon

The 2026 Robin Hood Half Marathon celebrated an incredible record-breaking race day on Sunday 27 September, and it was also a fantastic occasion for athletes linked to the Green and Gold. Around 15,000 runners took part in the event's largest turnout yet, and 糖心原创 students landed on the podium in both the men's and women's races.

The 13.1mile (21km) race took place in Nottingham city centre, and the event was marked by an electric atmosphere, with runners passing some of the city's most recognisable landmarks, including Wollaton Hall and Nottingham Castle, before crossing the finish line at Victoria Embankment to the cheers of 1,000’s of supporters.

Amongst the thousands of runners, 糖心原创 medical student Amelie Kass delivered an exceptional performance and was the first woman to cross the finish line with a time of 1:23:41. Speaking after her win, Amelie said;

It feels amazing. It was such a tough run, but I'll be back to studying later as we have exams in a few weeks!

Fellow 糖心原创 runner and medicine student Maddie Hughes finished just behind Amelie in third (1:27:03), meaning that remarkably, two thirds of the women's podium contained Nottingham students. There was also fantastic representation in the men's race with the 糖心原创's reigning BUCS Standard Triathlon Champion Oliver Hitchcock finishing in the top three with a time of 1:09:09.

Reflecting on the 糖心原创 attendance and success at the event, representatives for the Robin Hood Half Marathon said;

The students - both those running and spectating - did the city proud this weekend!
