Competing against the country's best student triathletes at Whitlingham Broad, the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´'s athletes produced a impressive showing across both individual and team events at the 2026 BUCS Triathlon Standard Distance Championships.

Leading the way in the individual competitions, Oliver Hitchcock claimed gold in the Open Individual event, with a finishing time of 1 hour, 52 minutes and 28 seconds. Hitchcock's win builds on an already incredible season for the athlete, who most recently represented Great Britain at the French GP in Metz. In the women's competition, Hannah Kennedy delivered a brilliant silver medal performance, finishing only 40 seconds behind first place. This result is even more impressive given she had only recently returned from winning the Africa Triathlon Junior Cup in Yasmine Hammamet.

The team events proved equally rewarding for the Nottingham. Hitchcock was joined by Nick Hall and Caleb Thornber to secure bronze in the Open Team event, whilst Kennedy teamed up with Imogen Sutton and Dylan Crowley to claim silver in the Female Team competition. Sutton recently competed at the French GP in Albi, further demonstrating the international quality of the squad.

The four medals add to a hugely successful BUCS season for the club, who currently sit second in the overall BUCS Triathlon standings and first in the Men's standings - a reflection of the quality and consistency shown throughout the year.

Club President Freddie Taylor reflected on the weekend: "There were absolutely fantastic results from everyone who raced at the weekend - a testament to how hard all three squads have been training over the last few weeks. It was the perfect way to wrap up one of our most successful BUCS seasons, everyone should be incredibly proud of their efforts this year."

The team now look towards the British Super Series and Ironman Triathlon as they seek to carry this momentum into the next stage of their season.
