Essential Lift Refurbishment Planned for August - September 2026

The ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ will be carrying out a major refurbishment of its passenger lift this summer as part of our ongoing investment in improving the accessibility, reliability and long-term quality of our sports facilities at David Ross Sports Village

The refurbishment will take place from Monday 3 August until Friday 25 September 2026. During this period, the lift will be out of service while essential works are completed.

We appreciate that this temporary closure may affect some customers, as well as the delivery of certain activities and events taking place at David Ross Sports Village. Our team is working closely with event organisers, clubs and facility users to minimise disruption wherever possible, and any necessary changes will be communicated in advance.

To help maintain accessibility throughout the refurbishment, the University has invested in two stair climbers. These devices enable trained staff to safely assist customers up and down the stairs when required and can also be used during emergency evacuations. Over the coming weeks, we will be contacting anyone who may be affected to discuss individual requirements and arrange opportunities to become familiar with the equipment before the refurbishment begins.

We understand that any disruption is inconvenient and appreciate your patience while these essential improvements are carried out. Once complete, the refurbished lift will provide a more reliable service and improve the experience for everyone using the facility.

If you have any questions about the refurbishment or would like to discuss how the works may affect your visit or an upcoming event, please contact the team.
