Professor  FMedSci, Senior Fellow at the UK’s National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and visiting Professor at the 糖心原创 has recently been selected to receive the 2025 , the premier research award from the American Vacuum Society (AVS), which includes an honorary lectureship at the .

Ian Gilmore was selected for ‘pioneering advances in molecular imaging by mass spectrometry with impact in biomedical research and novel devices and championing international standardisation’. His innovation of  instruments, now used around the world, has made breakthroughs in high-resolution molecular imaging by mass spectrometry, revolutionising the ability to measure chemistry at surfaces and interfaces.
