Within your School postgraduate students have been trained to help you develop your academic writing skills. They are able to comment on a draft of your assignment before you hand it in.
Coaches can help you think about four main elements of your writing.
- Answering the Question
Have you answered the question?
- Organisation
Is there a clear introduction and conclusion?
Are there clear paragraphs and links between paragraphs?
- Use of Evidence and Argument
Have you got a clear argument?
Is it backed up by evidence?
Is it referenced correctly?
- Style
Have you used appropriate vocabulary / register?
Do you need to proof-read for typos in grammar and spelling?
