Congratulations to Professor Paul Greenhaff, who gave the 4th ERAS Society Lecture at the World Congress of ‘Enhanced Recovery Following Surgery’ meeting in Lisbon last month.

The lecture was focussed on the dysregulation of muscle metabolism and muscle functional decline during immobilisation in humans and the added physiological stresses created by surgical trauma and inflammation.

Professor Greenhaff’s lecture was described as providing “superb insights into fundamental physiology and pathophysiology.” (taken from the )
