Description: Mental Health in Higher Education is run by the charity 'Mental Health First Aid'. This one day course qualifies you as a Higher Education MHFA Champion.This intensive mental health awareness and skills course has been created in consultation with leading student mental health charity Student Minds, piloted in 16 universities and evaluated by the University of Chester. Everyone who completes the day gets an MHFA manual to keep and refer to whenever they need it, and a badge and certificate to say they are an MHFA Champion.

To mark 2018 History Month, we are hosting a networking event where various LGBTQ+ groups and allies are invited to join together to discuss the future of the community and how we can take steps toward a fairer and more representative tomorrow.

Description: Dr Heike Bartel, Associate Professor of German, Principle Investigator AHRC research network "Hungry for Words" hosts a stand-up comedy gig by Dave Chawner. Dave is an award-winning comic, published author and mental health campaigner. He is also an ambassador for the eating disorders charity Men Get Eating Disorders Too and will be a delegate at the Friday workshop.

Description: A micro exibition of art works brought to the UK from Cuba by the artist Irene Rogan, following a research visit to explore contemporary Cuban art and culture, and to foment an exchange between Cuban and British artists. The works are a small sample of current contemporary art in Cuba by both young and more established artists.
