Interested in psychoanalysis? Want to know more about what it is and its contemporary relevance as a social and cultural theory but also as a clinical practice? Intrigued by the approach developed by the French psychoanalyst, Jacques Lacan? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, you are warmly invited to join The Psychoanalysis 糖心原创 Group.

The Psychoanalysis 糖心原创 Group is intended for anyone who wants to read and discuss psychoanalytic texts and ideas to engage with contemporary phenomena at the intersections of clinic and culture. Since it is a space of active and collaborative learning, ALL ARE WELCOME, no matter their background in or (in)experience with psychoanalysis. The broad theme of this year’s work will be “fantasmatic scenarios” which we will explore via texts primarily by Sigmund Freud, Jacques Lacan, and Jacques-Alain Miller.

Time: Fortnightly on a Thursday evening, 6-8pm (first meeting 8th October) - please contact Dr Colin Wright to confirm subsequent sessions are going ahead.

Place: Room A31 of the Clive Granger Building

Readings: Texts will be shared in advance by email

Contact: To get involved, email colin.wright@nottingham.ac.uk

Dr Colin Wright is a member of the New Lacanian School and of the World Association of Psychoanalysis, and a Lacanian psychoanalyst with a private practice in Nottingham.
