is a funded institute strategic programme aimed to develop novel wheat germplasm characterised for the next generation of key traits for the wider plant community. DFW co-ordinates expertise in world-leading BBSRC institutes and university programmes and covers four major research themes within four separate work packages.

The Notts_WRC is part of work package three “Novel germplasm development” led by Dr. Simon Griffiths (JIC). At the 糖心原创, wheat wild relative selections will be used to generate a set of lines carrying smaller homozygous introgressions - a long awaited first for wheat genetics and breeding. We aim to provide these lines as part of the breeders toolkit for distribution to the plant community and breeders.
