Postgraduate taught courses

Research within HFRG informs the teaching on our taught postgraduate courses. These courses equip students with the knowledge and skills required to design products, jobs, tasks and environments to suit human users. All courses are recognised by the Chartered Institute for Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF). The courses can be studied face to face or by distance learning, and full- or part-time. 
 

Courses

  • The  is run jointly with the . This course provides grounding in HCI and ‘hands on’ experience of key approaches for shaping the development of technologies that meet human need, both in the workplace and beyond, as the computer reaches out into everyday life.

All of these courses recruit students from a broad range of backgrounds, including psychology, engineering, computer science, management, health professions, design, arts and social sciences. Careers

Our graduating students are very much in demand with employers. A number of technology-driven companies (eg Jaguar LandRover, BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce, AWE) are in regular contact with staff in the department seeking highly qualified and capable individuals.
