The Society aims to support research into place-names and related work in various ways.

The Society's Council has launched a research fund to support work towards the completion of the Survey of English Place-Names. This fund aims to support researchers actively working to advance the study of place-names for the Society.
A subcommittee of EPNS meet four times a year to discuss submissions (January, April, July and October).
If you are selected, you will be invited to submit a more detailed funding proposal. Funding typically ranges from £250 - £2500, depending on the project and duration. Larger sums may be allocated for specific cases.
