A public lecture by from the at the University of Leicester will be held at the offices of the British Academy in London, at 3.30pm on Tuesday 19 September 2017.
Dr Jones is Associate Professor in Landscape History. His research focuses on the complex and changing relationships between people and the land in the medieval period. He leads the “” project, funded by the Leverhulme Trust, which explores how historic place-names, archaeology, and palaeoenvironmental evidence can help us understand medieval riverine landscapes and apply this knowledge to modern climate change.
The lecture will follow the AGM of the English Place-Name Society, which takes place at 2.30pm. Please note, therefore, that the time of the lecture may be subject to slight amendment.
