Biography

I obtained my PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Brescia working on how non-invasive brain stimulation can be combined with EEG.

I then moved to Rome for a post-doctoral position at "Foundazione Santa Lucia" where I investigated the role of brain oscillations in cortical connectivity and plasticity within the motor system.

From 2013 to 2019, I worked as Research Associate at the University of Glasgow. Here, I studied the role of brain oscillations in perception and top-down control within the visual system.

Research Summary

My research interests focus on two main areas.

The first is the role of brain oscillations in both long-range cortical communication and local brain activity, with a specific interest in top down control of visuo-spatial attention, visual processing and motor cortex excitability.

The second is the effect of brain stimulation (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation - TMS) on cortical excitability and behavioural performance.
