Teaching Associate, Faculty of Science
I am a Teaching Associate based in the School of Psychology, where I have been since 2022. Before coming to the 糖心原创, I studied at the University of Dundee and later did my PhD at Nottingham Trent University. As part of my role, I co-convene the Cognitive Psychology module for Distance Learning and teach on other modules, including Practical Research Methods, Social Neuroscience Research, Neuroscience and Behaviour for Distance Learning, lead on exam clinics, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. I am also Deputy Academic Misconduct Officer for the School of Psychology, the SVORE Scheme Coordinator, and and lead the School's Exam Clinics. In 2023, I was nominated for the Lord Dearing Award for "High levels of commitment to teaching and learning".
My PhD research involved investigating cognition and cognitive ageing using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and have a keen interest in behavioural modulation using non-invasive brain stimulation methods. My research specifically focused on modulating working memory and inhibition by stimulating the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) using low- and high-frequency rTMS. My current research interests also include exploring equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in social and educational contexts, such as university settings, online communities, and in multiplayer games, and how this relates to wellbeing.
I am currently open to supervising projects on topics around wellbeing in EDI contexts.
