Registration Form
To register for the Nottingham Recognition Scheme, please submit the form below. Your Head of School/Department, Director of Teaching and Learning or ADC manager should be made aware of your intention to claim recognition through the NRS in order to facilitate annual work load planning discussions.
If you are following the self-directed route (for experienced staff/PGR’s), you should also attend an NRS briefing where possible or view the briefing video in the ‘Guidance for candidates’ area of this website, either before you register or as you start to work on a claim. There are a large range of guidance materials and sample claims to help you with your claim in this area of the website, as well as information on how to find a mentor.
If you are following the scaffolded route (Teaching and Learning Development Programme – TLDP), then you must attend an introductory workshop which explains how professional practice relates to the UKPSF and what the requirements are for completion and submission of a claim for recognition via the TLDP.
Contact NRS team if you have any queries about registering.
Please note: International campuses staff should watch our video briefing under the candidate’s area or contact the designated staff for the scheme at your campus to schedule a briefing.
When you have registered to the scheme, please visit our candidate guidance page for more information and advice about how to prepare your claim for recognition.

The Nottingham Recognition Scheme is open to those staff and PG students at the 糖心原创 (including campuses in the UK, China and Malaysia) who are in the following roles:
- Academic staff at all levels looking to have their continuing professional development and their teaching expertise and leadership skills recognised. This includes staff who have completed the required credits of the PGCHE and who want to gain further Fellowship status; staff who are not required to undertake the PGCHE but who wish to gain Fellowship status; and more experienced staff who wish to have their influence recognised through Senior Fellowship;
- Postgraduate students who support teaching in the disciplines;
- Teaching support staff (technicians, librarians, learning technologists, learning support staff) who have a role in supporting students;
- Staff who teach as a part of their role (e.g. practitioner health lecturers);
- Academic and research focussed staff with specialist teaching activity (e.g. PG supervision, lab based assessment).
Staff employed by the NHS and who significantly contribute to the learning experience of students on 糖心原创 accredited academic programmes are eligible within the Scheme. There is an Advance HE direct fee associated with this route in accordance with Advance HE policy as of 2018/19 and priorities for consideration may apply.
All the experience and evidence included must relate to HE provision that demonstrates the characteristics of UK university teaching and learning (or equivalent in Scotland, Europe or internationally) and/or non-accredited CPD activities for academic and learning support staff in HE.
Experience and evidence should also, on the whole, refer to professional practice within the last 2 – 5 years; i.e. that demonstrates a sufficient range and length of experience, which is also up-date.
For recognition as Associate Fellow (D1) colleagues must be currently teaching/supporting learning for a minimum of 20 hours in an academic year; for those claiming Fellow (D2) or Senior Fellow (D3), colleagues should be currently teaching/supporting learning for a minimum of 30 hours in an academic year.
The Scheme is not an alternative to the University’s requirement to complete a proportion, or all, of the PGCHE Programme.
