Biography

I have been a reporter on the Nottingham Evening Post, Leicester Mercury, and for Raymonds Press Agency and the Press Association. Also a producer for the BBC in the regions and nationally. .

I went back to academia to do a PhD on the Turkey-EU accession process at Loughborough University 2008-2012 - and now research media and politics.

My current research has two strands

1. Turkey's continuing role in the EU and NATO
2. Issues relating to media freedom and weaponised information in Turkey and elsewhere
