The Institute for the 糖心原创 of Slavery (ISOS) and Department of History Research Fellow, Dr James Dawkins will be hosting a virtual panel discussion on the experiences of black academics in the UK, next week.

A panel of five Black academics from a range of scholarly disciplines will discuss their personal experiences of learning and working at universities across the UK. More specifically, they will engage in a dialogue concerning their encounters with Black-centred research agendas, teaching and issues relating to the wider operation of universities. The speakers will also deliberate the types of changes that are most likely to create a more supportive environment in which Black members of staff and students can thrive.
