Our award-winning school has an exceptional reputation for teaching, student support and research excellence.
We provide a variety of innovative courses, world-leading research and CPD activity in the field of health and sports rehabilitation. We help our students to develop the relevant knowledge, skills and expertise to excel in their chosen field and transform the lives of the people and the communities they subsequently serve. We also lead research in health and well-being across the lifespan, focusing, on local, national and global priorities.
Our school is vibrant and innovative and we aim to consistently provide a supportive, stimulating learning environment. We operate an educational partnership model, by engaging with our students to develop an environment in which they learn and are supported throughout their studies by a range of exceptional professional support staff and academics, who are experts in their chosen fields.
We offer undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research courses, as well as CPD opportunities for professional partners. The school is an interdisciplinary environment, which consists of nurses, midwives, physiotherapists, allied health professionals and those working in sports rehabilitation.
Our courses have a strong experiential learning component, which includes placement activity with relevant partners and, where appropriate, simulated practice learning environments. We also work closely with key partner organisations (e.g. regional NHS Trusts) and relevant professional bodies (including the NMC, HCPC and BASRaT) to ensure our students gain the best foundation on which to build a future career in health, allied health or sports rehabilitation.

Our research is focused around six key research groups. In partnership with colleagues from Pharmacy and Medicine, our research was ranked joint 4th in the UK (UoA3) for its research quality following publication of the REF2021 results. 96% of our submitted research was judged to be world-leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*) and our research environment was rated 100% world-leading.
