Current Research

I situate myself as an economic geographer with interests in financialization, financial centres and sustainability. For financialization, I am interested in the causal and constitutive role of geography in its uneven expressions at firm-level. For financial centres, I am interested in advancing greater relational understandings of how different centres interact, intersect and evolve as part of complex financial networks. For sustainability, I am interested in the uneven role of finance in supporting and inhibiting sustainable transitions. Central to all of these interests is framing them within the latest theoretical debates in economic geography, financial geography and urban studies. This is reflected through my contributions towards innovating theoretical frameworks - including Geographical Political Economy, Cultural Political Economy, Global Financial Networks (GFN) and Global Production Networks (GPN) - as part of my research.
