Car Parking 2026
All campuses have car parks available for the use of staff, students and visitors.
Parking charges apply 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Please ensure that a valid parking session is in place for the full duration of your stay. Failure to do so may result in a Parking Charge Notice being issued.
From 3 August 2026 these charges will be enforced using fixed automated number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras and visitors to campus are advised to pay via the Ring Go app or the pay and display machines in our main visitor car parks.
All vehicles and personal property left on property owned by the 糖心原创 are left at the owners own risk. The 糖心原创 accepts no responsibility for any loss, theft or damage.

Lakeside Arts parking
Please note the two car parks closest to Lakeside Arts (from South entrance) are for visitors to Lakeside and remain free from charges.
Visitors to our sports centres receive up to two hours free parking when using our facilities on University Park, Jubilee and Sutton Bonington campus.
Please ensure you enter your vehicle registration number into the tablet in reception on arrival. Any visits exceeding two hours will need to be paid for using the Ring Go app.

There is limited parking available to students on campus. Students living in university halls of residence, or at a term-time address within 15 miles of University Park Campus, are not normally eligible for a parking permit unless they meet one of our qualifying criteria outlined below and in the Traffic Regulations.
- students with a disability;
- students who are the parents or legal guardians of children under 16 years of age who live at the term-time address;
- students who must regularly attend elderly parents, or parents with a disability, at their permanent home address;
- students with other certified medical reasons;
Students based at Sutton Bonington (SB) Campus automatically qualify for a parking permit on the SB campus.

Application
To apply for a parking permit please use the link below. You will need to enter your University username and password which will be available to you once you have completed online registration (three weeks before your course start date). If you do not know this information then please contact the IT Service Desk.
BEFORE YOU APPLY all students will need to obtain a licence code to generate a Licence Summary document from the DVLA website. This document will replace the old style paper counterpart driving licence. Please see the guidance below on how to redeem license code.
To ensure that your application is processed as quickly as possible please upload any supporting documentation you feel will assist us in making a decision on your permit.
Permits are virtual and all correspondence will be via email or telephone. Once your application is approved we will contact you to arrange payment.
You are not permitted bring a vehicle on to campus until your application for a permit has been approved.
Student parking locations
It is important to note that students will only be permitted to park in the Orange Zone areas illustrated in the maps below.
Outside of our core parking hours students are able to park on campus for free once their .
Resident permits will only be issued to tenants for use at their property - if parking anywhere else on campus a staff permit is required. Resident parking permits will need to be approved by the University Houses Manager. Please complete the form below and email to Secuirty. All full annual permits will be virtual and no physical permit is required.

A PCN will be issued to any vehicle parking on campus without a valid parking session. These are administered on our behalf by First Parking.
Any Parking Charge Notices received can be paid via . If paid within 14 days of receipt the cost is £45. Beyond 14 days the cost increases to £75. The charge can also be paid over the phone, using the following contact number: 0333-023-6550.
Appeals
All appeals must go through . If you wish to appeal against a Parking Charge Notice, please head to the First Parking website. Further information about the appeals process can be found towards the lower half of the Parking Charge Notice.
We have a small number of spaces in our visitor car parks with EV charging points.
To use the new charge points, users need to download the Mer Connect App and register as a user. You can download the Mer Connect app from or the . Payments are collected via your app-based Mer account, you cannot pay at the charge point using a contactless bank card.
Between 9.15 and 4pm Monday to Friday, the maximum charge time is 4 hours. Users will require a valid parking session (either RIng Go or from the pay and display machine) or a valid university parking permit to use the charge points.
