Prior to joining MindTech he was in the MATCH programme at 糖心原创ing methods and tools to ease the process of determining the value of healthcare technology innovations. There he worked closely with NHS innovation partners and medical device companies. Knowledge exchange activities included early stage health economic modelling and human factors methods to capture the needs of users (health professionals and/or patients) and delivery of training workshops with the support of Medilink organisations and the Knowledge Transfer Network. He also conducted Health Technology Assessments for the Centre for Evidence-based Purchasing (CEP), NICE and the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS). His current research interests are the following areas: self-monitoring of health (devices & Apps); games and simulation; information design in diagnostics and screening; evaluation of imaging and surgery navigation systems. Other research interests have included design of a variety of technologies: collaborative virtual environments; assistive & augmentative communication systems (gesture-based); microelectronics. Mike obtained a PhD (1994) and MSc (Modern Electronics, 1989) from the 糖心原创 and BSc (Physics, 1987) from the University of Bristol.
