Biography
Mark McCorquodale is member of the Environmental Fluid Mechanics and Geoprocesses Research Group.
Teaching Summary
CIVE1004 - Group Project
This module is a problem-based group project; students undertake construction planning, risk management and structural design. I lead the design aspects of the module, which take place during the spring semester.
CIVE1005/ CIVE2043 - Portfolio of Civil Engineering Studies 1 and 2.
I convene the CIVE1005 module and teach in the "I3: Civil 3D" workshop", "E2: Practice in Engineering Surveying" and "E3: Surveying Field Course" workshops.
CIVE2044 - Structural Analysis 2
I convene the module and teach the Autumn semester of the module, which focuses on the analysis of indeterminate structures.
CIVE3018 - Construction Practice
In this module, students plan and construct a scaled-down construction project in a time-limited (residential) field course; I support the students during the planning and construction phases of the project.
Research Summary
My research is in the field of Fluid Mechanics. Previous and current areas of focus include:
- particle/fluid interactions
- turbulence/boundary interactions
