Biography
Toomas Hinnosaar got his Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University. He worked at the Collegio Carlo Alberto (Turin, Italy) from 2012-2020 and joined the 糖心原创 in 2020 as an Associate Professor. He is a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). He belongs to the 糖心原创 Economic Theory Centre (UNET) and the Centre for Decision Research and Experimental Economics (CeDEx).
Toomas is a microeconomic theorist and studies mainly optimal selling mechanisms and how individuals interact in sequential settings. His work on mechanism design explores questions related to ticket pricing by airlines, refund policies by retailers, and optimal auctions under various circumstances. His research on sequential interactions includes sequential contests, Stackelberg oligopolies, and price-setting on a supply chain network. His work has been published in academic journals such as the Journal of the European Economic Association, the Economic Journal, and Games and Economic Behavior. His research has been covered by news outlets such as Guardian, BBC Radio, Telegraph, Independent, and Quartz.
