Biography

Simon joined the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ in the summer of 2000. In September 2017, he became Head of the School of Economics at the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Ningbo China. His research interests lie primarily in the areas of poverty, labour markets, health and education, with application to China and sub-Saharan Africa. He is a research associate of the Institute of Labour Economics, IZA, and has served as a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of African Economies, the Journal of Development Studies and African Development Review. He has published in a range of journals including Economic Development and Cultural Change, the Journal of African Economies, the Journal of International Development, the Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics and World Development.
