Digital and Technology Services have introduced a new, more secure multi-factor authentication method called Passkeys.
As an alternative to receiving a security code via multi-factor authentication (MFA), Passkeys enables you to use your device’s pin number, fingerprint or facial recognition to access university IT systems.
Passkeys is a secure, phishing-resistant method of multi-factor authentication. We strongly encourage you to use this to keep your IT account secure. You will need to enable Bluetooth on your laptop and mobile phone for Passkey authentication.
How do I start using Passkeys?
- If you already use the Microsoft Authenticator app, follow the or steps to start using Passkeys (start at where you need to click on ‘Create a Passkey’)
- If you do not already use the Microsoft Authenticator app, follow these steps to install the app
