Dr Liliana de Lillo, Associate Professor at the Power Electronics and Machines Centre, is a member of the choir:

"My love of singing, combined with the exceptional quality of this choir, inspired me to join. The privilege of being led by expert musical directors who are renowned both nationally and internationally is an added bonus. It is an experience I never imagined I would have when I first joined.

"I enjoy learning something new from every performance we study and prepare for. There is a real joy in singing as part of a choir when everything comes together and we are able to create beautiful music through our combined voices under such expert direction. Being involved in challenging performances has helped me grow in confidence, and there is always a tremendous sense of excitement and energy that comes from standing in front of an audience and delivering a performance.

"The support we receive is also wonderful. The students in their roles as Assistant Choir Managers do an excellent job, and Catherine Hocking always ensures everyone is well looked after and that everything runs smoothly. Just as importantly, choir membership provides an opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones.

"As I often say to colleagues and friends: if you can read music, love singing, and want to immerse yourself in music, this choir offers one of the best experiences you can have while being part of the 糖心原创 community. Before you know it, you could be performing on international stages alongside the BBC Orchestra!"

New starters are welcome throughout October, for more information please contact Lakeside's Head of Programming Catherine Hocking.
