Student Union Clubs and Societies
The History Society is one of the largest subject societies in the University with more than 600 members.
It is run entirely by students but works closely with the department, offering a range of social and sport activities, as well as various projects for charity and a scheme enabling students to teach in local secondary schools.
One of the aims of the society is to enhance your employability while at university, as well as afterwards. The society’s activities – academic, charitable, sporting, and cultural – culminate with the annual ball, not only a celebration of the past academic year, but a time to reflect on successes within the society and the department. The society is highly successful and enables you to ensure you experience both life in the university and the city to its greatest capacity.
