Our Alumni Volunteer of the Year Hugh first joined the Students Union Board of Trustees in 2015 as an external Trustee and as Chair has been instrumental to the SU’s ongoing transformation into a professional and efficient body which puts students at the heart of everything.
Natalie Haydon-Yeung (Law, 2012), Widening Participation Volunteer
Since graduation, Natalie has provided hundreds of students with advice and guidance through Widening Participation projects. She's an excellent role model who helps break down some of the barriers preventing disadvantaged young people from attending university. Find out more.
Lisa Johnson, Advocate and Fundraiser - Life Cycle 6 and NBCRC
Lisa volunteered tirelessly for the University's Life Cycle 6 Campaign, raising thousands in the process. She also promotes the research carried out by the Nottingham Breast Cancer Research Centre (NBCRC), and has even appeared on TV to share her own struggles with cancer.

Nottingham Slave Trade Legacies Group (NSTL)
The group’s mainly African Caribbean heritage volunteers are committed to exploring the implications of the Transatlantic Slave Trade on the development of modern Britain and making the contributions of their enslaved ancestors clear at popular heritage sites, including Newstead Abbey in Nottinghamshire.
