Introduction to Practical Philosophy

This module offers an introduction to key topics in practical philosophy. You鈥檒l explore areas such as moral, political, and social philosophy. Rather than just learning about the views of specific philosophers, you鈥檒l actively engage with the problems and puzzles these areas present.听

The module encourages you to see the connections between different philosophical areas, reflecting on their methodological similarities and differences. You鈥檒l develop diverse approaches to key positions in practical philosophy, honing skills in argument reconstruction and evaluation.听

By the end of this module, you鈥檒l have a solid foundation for reconstructing, evaluating, and articulating philosophical positions in future modules. Running alongside our autumn core module, this course ensures you gain essential knowledge and techniques in practical philosophy.听

You鈥檒l explore areas such as logic, metaphysics, epistemology, and philosophy of mind.
