Get career-ready, build your skills, and make a difference

Whether you have a career in mind or not, completing a placement or doing some voluntary work is great for your CV. They are also perfect ways to build connections and try out the world of work.

What is a placement?

You might see placements advertised as ‘internships’, ‘work experience’, or ‘volunteering’, as different organisations use different terms.ÌýWhat’s most important is that you choose what interests you.

We offer three main types of opportunity. They are:Ìý ÌýÌý

  • Paid placements
  • Unpaid placements, for credit towards your degree
  • Unpaid voluntary opportunities, for giving back to the community or building your skillsÌý Ìý

Whichever option you choose, you can:

  • get hands-on work experienceÌý
  • build the skills employers want
  • improve your awareness of the sector you would like to work in
  • have a better idea of your future career goals
  • gain entry into a competitive industry

One of the best things about an arts degree is theÌýplethora of career opportunities available to our graduates! However, this canÌýsometimes be a little daunting for some students who may not know where toÌýstart narrowing down their options. Placements are a great opportunity forÌýstudents to develop their employability skills, and refine their career plans.
