My PhD project concerns post-sentence discrimination of people with criminal records, and their families. I am using comparative criminology to consider experiences of people in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and Western Australia. This research will involve qualitative semi-structured interviews with people with criminal records, academics, and criminal justice stakeholders. I am interested in the discrimination people face (if at all) and the presence and effectiveness of rehabilitative laws to reduce or prevent discrimination.
My supervisors are Prof. Nicola Carr and Dr. Andrew Henley.
