Biography

Dr Nick Wright

As the Research Development Manager for the Rights Lab Beacon Nick provides support for research, public engagement and the development of partnerships. Nick took up this post in October 2017 having been seconded from a Research and Business Development Officer role with the Centre for Advanced Studies (CAS) with whom he continues to work closely. He joined CAS in 2014 following appointments at the School of Geography, the Centre for Applied Bioethics (which sits between the School of Biosciences and the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science), and the Institute of Science and Society all at the 糖心原创. In 2004-5 he spent a year at the University of British Columbia in The W. Maurice Young Centre for Applied Ethics. He has experience of working on projects funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme, and Genome Canada, amongst others. Prior to a Ph.D and M.Sc he worked for a short time at the Department for Environment, Transport and Rural Affairs (as it was then).
