, from the School of Chemistry, received royal recognition for her work on widening participation in the 2013 New Years Honours List
Dr McCombie, a tireless member of the STS PG’s Management Board, was awarded an MBE for her work on the ’ Widening Participation/Diversity programme and particularly her Chairmanship of the Juno project from 2008-2012.
The rewards university Physics departments which address the underrepresentation of women in their employment. Dr McCombie has also been a member of the Institute of Physics for over ten years.
Two more Nottingham scholars were recognised in this year’s Honours list. received an CBE for his work in respiratory medicine and tobacco control and received an OBE for services to victims of trauma.
