The Science, Technology and Society Priority Group were delighted to host (John Selwyn Gummer), who gave a fascinating lecture about the economics, politics and science of water. The talk, ‘Water: A Victorian Vision, Today’s reality’, covered historical approaches to water management, the ‘democratisation’ of water supply in the Victorian era and the search for innovation to ensure affordable and safe drinking water is available to all.
