Chemists go to Parliament!

Two researchers from the School of Chemistry at the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ have fought off stiff competition from across the country to be selected to present their research at an exhibition and reception in the House of Commons.

Nottingham Nanoscience & Nanotechnology Centre postdoctoral competition winners

Description
Dr. Graham Rance and Dr. Tom Chamberlain have been announced winners of the Nottingham Nanoscience & Nanotechnology Centre postdoctoral competition, 2013. Their joint proposal, titled "Exploring the complementarity of microscopy and spectroscopy for controlled transformations of carbon at the nanoscale", was awarded £1000 worth of instrument time in the NNNC.

Pioneering chemists are taking part in the biggest-ever European research programme

Description
Pioneering chemists from The ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ are taking part in the biggest-ever European research programme to speed up the discovery of new drugs. The scientists will be working with leading drug discovery services partner, Sygnature Discovery in BioCity Nottingham, as part of a new European Lead Factory – a huge innovative collaboration between several of Europe's largest pharmaceutical companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and academic researchers. The project will bring €6.2m from the European project into the City of Nottingham.
