There are specific requirements under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations for work involving Carcinogens, Mutagens, and Substances Toxic to Reproduction (CMRs).
For all activities involving these hazardous substances, Business Units must ensure that a suitable and sufficient COSHH assessment is completed in accordance with SAF-CMP-011 Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and SAF-CMP-012 Control of Carcinogens, Mutagens and Reprotoxins Compliance Standard.
Business Units must also maintain records of use for staff and students working with CMRs by completing SAF-FOR-012a CMR Usage Log.
