Key aims and expertise
Our work on novel complex data analysis, knowledge representation, machine learning, decision support algorithms and modelling of human decision making have created real-world impact in biomedical informatics, security, energy management and digital economy.
The group encompasses researchers from a variety of backgrounds including computer science, the biomedical sciences, operational research, mathematics, statistics and complexity science. The group currently has 8 academic staff, 3 research staff, 18 PhD students, and 2 visitors.
IMA has strong links to the , linking IMA research outputs to real-world applications.
