Is microfinance associated with changes in women's well-being and children's nutrition? Systematic review just published

 

Microfinance is the provision of savings and small loans services to the poor. We have just published a systematic review and meta-analysis to see if microfinance is associated with changes in women's well-being and children's nutrition. The review included 27 studies and it showed that microfinance was associated with an increase in the number of women using contraceptives, some positive changes in female empowerment  and improvements in children's nutrition in three studies.
