Voyeurism is an under researched and poorly understood type of behaviour. Research that has been done has primarily been concerned with the prevalence rather than developing an understanding of the behaviour and case studies have typically been restricted by the requirements of journal papers.

A recent monograph (Duff, 2018) has sought to bring voyeurism back into our consciousness by reviewing what we currently understand and then presenting a case study, in greater depth, to examine potential motivators for voyeurism, that surpass the implicit idea that voyeurism is simply a form of sexualised behaviour.
